The base lifts on hydraulic gas struts to open the whole footprint of the bed for storage — spare duvets, a suitcase, the things that otherwise live in the loft. A platform top, so the mattress provides all the give and the base holds its shape.

Sold on its own. No mattress and no headboard — buy it if your mattress is fine and the base under it is not, or pair it with one of our floor-standing headboards.
