Zip and Link Sultan 2000 Pocket Spring Mattress

Two single mattresses that join with a central zip to make one bed, or come apart to make two. The step up here is the spring count: 2000 individually pocketed springs per half, double the 1000-spring models.

More springs means smaller springs packed more closely, and smaller springs respond to smaller changes in weight. The practical result is a mattress that follows your body more precisely — better contouring at the shoulder and hip, less pressure in one place, and noticeably less disturbance passing from one side of the bed to the other.

Above the spring unit are wool, hypoallergenic filling and high-loft wadding, finished in a durable soft-touch damask. The wool helps regulate temperature through the year without any need for a cooling gel or a special cover. The tension is medium.

It is hand-tufted, so the fillings stay where they were put rather than settling into hollows, and the borders are side-stitched to firm up the edges — the difference between a mattress you can sit on the side of and one that tips you off. Turning handles are fitted.
